Saturday, March 3 is National Moscow Mule day and that’s kind of our holy grail; aka we’re excited!
Before we get to the nitty gritty of how exactly you can enjoy such a glorious holiday, we’d like to first expand on the ingredients—specifically ginger beer. Being connoisseurs of [Brooklyn Crafted] ginger beer, we’ve naturally encountered some questions about this star ingredient: Is it alcoholic? How is it different from ginger ale?
Ginger beer has been around since the mid-1700s in England and has been widely consumed throughout the Caribbean for years. While it was traditionally made as an alcoholic beverage, these days it’s a non-alcoholic mixer that makes some pretty outstanding cocktails (such as the Moscow Mule). There are a variety of brands and options to choose from, but not many of them have perfected the art like we have, if we do say so ourselves 😉
Enter, Brooklyn Crafted Ginger Beer. Unique amongst its peers, it contains real ginger pieces that you can actually see and taste and some pretty unique flavor varieties (check them out!). It’s hand-crafted in Brooklyn, as the name suggests and uses all-natural, simple ingredients and no preservatives. What differentiates our ginger beer from big-sister brand Bruce Cost Ginger Ale? One simple ingredient: organic ginger extract, which really ups the ante on spice and gives you the much anticipated “ginger burn.”
Before we get too off track, let’s not forget why we’re here: NATIONAL MOSCOW MULE DAY! There are so many varieties to enjoy. You can vary your liquors: Vodka, Whiskey and even Gin, which we’ve learned is popular in Germany and aptly named the Munich Mule. This particular variety simply substitutes the Vodka with Gin in the classic Mule. Looking for the Irish take? Try the Irish Mule, substituting Whiskey where the Vodka should be. You should also try the Strawberry Basil Mule, the Warsaw Mule (which was crafted by our friends at Teddy’s Bar & Grill Brooklyn) or the Blackberry Rum Mule. These options too much to handle? Stick to the classic.
Whatever you do, get prepared, grab some Brooklyn Crafted Ginger Beer and celebrate an epic day. You can thank us later.
